Literacy Week. Feb 18th-20th.
Literacy Week in Dominica’s primary schools is usually held to promote reading and writing skills, involves a range of engaging activities such as poetry, drama, reading competitions, and character dress-up days. Schools focus on showcasing student talent, fostering a love for reading, and often involve community outreach by reading to the elderly. In addition to that Literacy Day is a culmination of subjects that the students do in Spelling, English, and Reading, Poetry, and storytelling, including dressing as favorite characters, giving book reviews. Our students choose a day to present their talents.
